Guizhou Zhenhua E-Chem Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “ZEC” or “the company”) was established in April 2004. The company relocated from Shenzhen City to Guiyang City of Guizhou Province in 2018. Its controlling shareholder is China Zhenhua Electronics Group Co., Ltd., and the actual controller is China Electronics Corporation. ZEC was officially listed on Shanghai Stock Exchange’s Sci-Tech Innovation Board on September 14, 2021. (stock abbreviation: Guizhou Zhenhua E-chem Inc.; stock code: 688707)
The company currently operates two production bases, located in Guiyang High-tech Zone and Anlong Economic Development Zone in Qianxinan Prefecture (formerly Yilong Experimental Area). As of the first half of 2025, it has an annual production capacity of 82,000 tons of cathode materials.
Since its establishment, ZEC has been focusing on the R&D, production and sales of cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries that are mainly used in new energy vehicles and 3C consumer electronics. Its core competitive products include cathode materials for new energy vehicles such as medium-nickel, medium-high nickel, and high-nickel for large single-crystal nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary material, and cathode materials for consumer electronics, including high-voltage lithium cobalt oxide, composite ternary cathode materials, and large single-crystal cathode ternary material.
In 2009, ZEC completed the R&D and production of large single-crystal nickel-cobalt-manganese cathode ternary material, taking an lead in the industry both at home and abroad. After years of R&D and development, the company has successfully developed a series of core technologies with independent intellectual property rights, including the synthesis technology of large single-crystal nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary material, large single-crystal cobalt-free layered nickel-manganese binary material, high-voltage lithium cobalt oxide, poly-crystal nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary material, and spinel structure composite modified material, as well as cathode material doping technology, Sodium-ion battery cathode material, and key material for semi-solid/solid-state battery synthesis technology. These achievements have been granted multiple domestic and international patents.
In advanced materials, the company's layered oxide sodium-ion battery cathode materials have completed multiple generations of product iterations and achieved successful vehicle applications. The polyanion material pilot production line (hundred-ton scale) is undergoing comprehensive evaluation and validation. For high-energy-density scenarios such as semi-solid/condensed/solid-state batteries, the company's self-developed solid electrolyte oxides, modified ternary materials, and lithium-rich manganese-based cathode materials have been provided to leading downstream customers. Composite solid electrolytes have achieved stable ton-scale production, and collaborations with multiple domestic mainstream battery companies are advancing validation and hundred-ton pilot line construction. For the low-altitude economy sector, the company has developed cathode materials featuring high energy density, high power, long cycle life, and enhanced safety, achieving hundred-ton-scale production and sales.
Looking ahead, the company will continue to enhance the performance of its full range of lithium-ion ternary cathode materials, accelerate the industrialization of sodium-ion battery materials, solid-state battery key materials, and lithium iron manganese phosphate systems, and intensify R&D efforts in materials for solid-state batteries and low-altitude economy applications. Through continuous cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and the development of high-value-added products, the company aims to further strengthen its competitive edge.
